It was a regular day last Sunday, no hotter than usual but still too hot for the Yi Jin JIng that Rakesh set us to do … he had his reasons we thought and with a minimum of groans we practiced.
We realised it was Anitha’s birthday and soon also learnt that it was the wedding anniversary of Jay Kumar and Vijaya.
The surprise came when we saw Rohit, Anitha’s cousin stride into the quad carrying two plastic bags and a little later Rakesh and Albert, who had also disappeared mid-way, came back similarly laden.
An impromptu celebration, well not quite impromptu perhaps, but thoroughly enjoyable. The highlight? The three celebratories had a tough time blowing out the magic candles … every apparent success was dashed with each wisp of smoke that ignited.
